Jacob Clark

October 5, 1945 ~ October 30, 2017 (age 72) 72 Years Old

A life committed to helping others found its permanent resting place on Monday, October 30, 2017. Mr. Jacob was a person that loved people and was willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and strangers if needed.

 

Jacob Clark was born October 5, 1945 to the late Mr. Otto and Mrs. Eva Lou Bryant Clark in Holly Hill, SC. To this union, ten children were born. Mr. Jacob was preceded in death by his father, mother and siblings.; Emmaline Wright, Bessie Mae Simmons, Raymond Clark, Gladys Williams, Isabella Sellers, and Otto Clark, Jr.  

 

Mr. Jacob grew up in the Holly Hill community where he attended the local public schools. He graduated from Roberts High School in 1965. Jacob loved farming! He worked as a farmer for many years. In addition to farming, he worked as a Telecommunication Technicians for a local company and as an independent contractor.

 

At an early age, Jacob joined Greater Target A.M.E. Church. Later in life, he moved his membership to Bethel A.M.E. Church where he was an active member. There he served faithfully as the Chairman of the Trustee Board and as a Class Leader. 

 

Jacob was united in holy matrimony to the former Dorothy Capers. This union was blessed with two daughters.

 

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Dorothy Capers Clark of Holly Hill, SC; daughters, Rhonda Tenika Clark and Antoinette (Leon) Davis of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, Rakeem Jeorone Clark of Charleston, SC and Amarra Sy’mone Davis of Columbia, SC; one sister, Hannah Grace (William) Leary of Holly Hill, SC; two brothers, Rev. Esau (Rev. Betty) Clark and Minister Robert (Dorothy) Clark, all of Holly Hill, SC; five brothers-in-law, Deacon Jessie Sellers, Will Capers, and Chappelle Capers all of Holly Hill, SC, Leroy Capers of Bronx, NY, and Frank Williams of Hartford, CT; two sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Dailey of Holly Hill, SC and Gracie Clark of Washington, NC; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
