Sis. Beatrice Thompson, was born May 21, 1949 in Vance to the late Mr. George Thompson, Sr. and the late Mrs. Mary F. Thompson.
Sis. Thompson graduated from Roberts High School in 1967. Beatrice was employed by Orangeburg County Council on Aging for 25 years. She was also a newspaper carrier with The Times and Democrat for six years.
She became a member of Live Oak A. M. E. Church at an early age, where she served faithfully in the following capacities: Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible Study Teacher, Class Leader, member of the Christian Ed Department, Stewardess Board, and Senior and Mass Choirs. Sis. Thompson loved her church and her community.
She was preceded in death by her late parents, George and Mary F. Thompson, late siblings, Vernetta Thompson, Daryl Thompson, Ronald Thompson, and Drusilla Pettigrew.
She leaves to cherish her sweet, precious memories: a loving daughter whom she loved with her entire heart and soul, Kimberly K. Thompson of Charlotte, NC; loving sisters, Sandra Thompson and Mary L. Snell both of Vance, SC, Mary Jenkins and Betty Fowler both of Eutawville, SC; loving brothers, George (Vernita) Thompson, Jr. of Eutawville, SC, David L. (Gloria) Thompson of Vance, SC, and Elder Kenneth (Kathy) Shuler of Manning, SC; aunt Mrs. Lurine Abraham; maternal aunt, Mrs. Barbara Gilliard; paternal aunts, Mrs. Jacklyn Smalls and Mrs. Marie Young; special uncle, Deacon Nathaniel Jakes of Washington, DC and Mr. Israel Jamison of Vance, SC; a special nephew, Sha’Quan Thompson, a special niece, De’Asia Snell, a special cousin, Patricia Young, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
