Dominique Gilliard

Dominique Renaldo Gilliard, the son of Richard Gilliard and the late Elizabeth Delphine Jamerson Gilliard, was born on February 21, 1983 in Charleston, SC. The Lord called Dominique to eternal rest on Friday, November 2, 2018.

At an early age, Dominique joined Ebenezer Zion A.M.E. Church and was an active member on the Sunbeam Choir and Sunday School. He was educated in the Berkeley County School System and was a graduate of Cross High School in Cross, South Carolina.

After graduation, in his early teenage years, following the footsteps of his Dad, DJ Richard “Terrific” Gilliard, he became a well-known DJ known as “DJ Dominique.” He was highly requested in the Lowcountry and surrounding areas. Dominique was also employed by SCDOT and took pride in his work.

Dominique was preceded in death by his beloved mother, four loving grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Nathaniel and Elouise Jamerson and Mr. & Mrs. Wesley and Trena Bell Gilliard; one dear uncle, Mr. Jacob Edward Levi Jamerson; and one dear aunt, Alice Jamerson.

His loving memories will be forever cherished by his adorable unborn child to be named Dominique Lenward Gilliard (boy) or Dominique Lynn Gilliard (girl); his devoted Dad, Richard Gilliard of Cross, SC; two loving sisters, Demetris Gilliard-Rivers of Goose Creek, SC and Antwasette Gilliard of Moncks Corner, SC; one loving brother, Quintin Gilliard of Myrtle Beach, SC; three nieces, Akaylah Gilliard of Lawton, OK, Marchaeya Gilliard of Goose Creek, SC, and Destiny Gavin of Moncks Corner, SC; four nephews, Darnell Rivers, Jr. of Charleston, SC, Samari Beaufort and Tyshawn Gavin of Moncks Corner, SC, and Brandon Rivers of Cross, SC; aunts and uncles, Bernice Muskgrave of Woodridge, NY, Victor (Elizabeth) Gilliard of Orangeburg, SC, Gladys (Benjamin) Bennett, Carrie (Benjamin Jr.) Jefferson, Lutrisha Gilliard, Benjamin (Patricia) Gilliard, Zelphair (Norman) Grant, all of Cross, SC, Harry (Anne) Gilliard, and Bobby (Andrea) Gilliard both of Ridgeville, SC, Beverly Wiley of Lithonia, GA, Gloria Jamerson of Cross, SC, his favorite uncle, Nathan “Bernard” Jamerson of Moncks Corner, SC, Muzerann “Ann” Simmons of Manhattan, NY, and Liza Mae Jamerson of Moncks Corner, SC; a god sister, Jelani Jefferson of Cross, SC; a godson, Christian Taylor Goodwin of Goose Creek, SC; a special friend, Nyisha Simmons; and a host of caring cousins, classmates, and friends.
