Honoring the life of Eartha Lee Oliver
Eartha Lee Jenkins Oliver was born on September 14, 1927 in Vance, SC to the late Rosa Wright Jamison and Robbie Jenkins. Eartha grew up in the Vance area and attended Bull School in Vance, SC.
At an early age Eartha have her life to Christ and joined Springfield Baptist Church. In 1989, she then joined Live Oak AME Church. She was a faithful servant in several capacities such as the YWCA, Christian Aid, Missionary Society, the Stewardess Board, Pastor’s Aid Board, and the Senior Choir for many years.
Eartha was join in holy matrimony to Mr. Albert Oliver in 1952. To this union seven children were born, four of whom proceeded her in death shortly after birth.
Eartha worked for many years as a caretaker for many families. She was also a homemaker, ensuring that her family was well taken care of.
Eartha entered in eternal rest at her home on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 4:50am. She fought a good fight and was ready to transition to her heavenly home. She was preceded in death by her mother and father (Rosa & Robbie), Step-father (Frankie Jamison), Husband (Albert), Children (Albert, Alphine, Herbert, & Halaquie), son Robbie “Slick” Jenkins, and siblings (Nathaniel, Solomon, James, Willa Mae, and Susie).
Eartha leaves to cherish her memories her two daughters Cornelia O. (Zebedee) Davis of Bronx, NY and Rosa Belle Oliver of the home, a nephew reared as her own, Leroy “Teenny” (Jacqueline) Blackmon of Stamford, CT, daughter-in-law, Queenell Jenkins, six grandchildren, Albert Davis and Bambie Davis of Bronx, NY, Stovesha Jamison of Columbia, SC, Douglas Davis, Joshua Davis, and Zana Davis all of Bronx, NY, seven great grandchildren, Josiah, Kiiera, Akiil, Dreylan, Joi, Bryson, and Branson, special longtime friend, Marie Jamison, past & present loving caregivers (Louise Bryant, Amanda Jamison, & Ellen Stewart), a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Eartha Oliver, 91, of 371 Mill Creek Road, Vance, departed this life on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at her residence.
