Marion Mack Obituary

His Life Story

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Psalm 23:4

1984- Marion “Jigga Man” Jerome Mack – 2019

A Time to be born…

Rome was born March 15, 1984, in Orangeburg, South Carolina to the late Melvin “Bubba” Mack and Alice Grant.

A Time to Love…

“Love is patient, love is kind…It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails.” – 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8.

Rome loved his family and friends unconditionally. Love resonated in his interactions and in his spirit.  His compassion was unwavering, never ending.

A Time to Live…

Rome was educated in the public schools of Holly Hill and graduated from Holly Hill-Roberts High School. He also attended Benedict College in Columbia, SC. Rome was christened at Bethel AME Church in Holly Hill and at the age of 14, accepted Christ at Rock Hill AME Church under the leadership of Rev. Isiah Pringle.  He was later baptized at Refuge Temple in Holly Hill, SC, but continued to be an active member of Rock Hill AME Church, where he served as one of the musicians.

Rome was an “ENTREPRENEUR.” He relished in being his own boss and doing things in his unique way. This innovative spirit extended to his music, which was his first love and took flight at an early age. Rome’s love for music was the catalyst for many opportunities and rewarding experiences. His passion and love for music allowed him to minister music at several churches throughout the tri-county region and eventually led him to start his own recording company - So Gutta Entertainment. He worked with artists both locally as well as nationally, and is widely known for his work with Team I.R.A.C. with their hit single “Pants Saggin”. He continued his love of music and entertainment through his event productions.

Rome had a zest for life and made a point to pursue various areas of interest.  Anyone who spent time around him knew he had a love for hunting.  He could spend hours and hours hunting and even more hours talking about his experiences while hunting. He even tried his hand at barbering.  He enjoyed playing baseball, racing cars and horses. His love for cars led him to establishing his own car dealership, Euphoria Automotive in Santee, SC. Rome was affectionately loved by so many. He could make you laugh when you wanted to cry and could talk you into doing almost anything. Rome was caring, kindhearted and loving to everyone.

A Time to Die…

Rome entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 14, 2019. He will be remembered as an awesome son, father, brother, motivator, friend and fiancé. He was preceded in death by his loving grandmother, Mrs. Bertie “Duck” Brown; grandfather, Mr. William Mack; godfather, Mr. Emanuel Edwards and future mother-in-law, Julian Robinson.

A Time to Mourn…

His loving memories will be forever cherished by his parents, Alice and Elder Edward Grant of Vance, SC; his loving fiancé, Annastashia Robinson of the home; doting daughters, Treona Prezzy and Jakyra Mack of the home; three sisters, Shaless Avinger of Summerville, SC, Jeronica (Michael) Durant and Chanel Grant of Vance, SC; his grandfather, Dan Brown of Vance, SC; two special aunts, Maggie "Tiger" Brown of Vance, SC and Ruth Mack of Holly Hill, SC; four aunts, Mary Mack, Martha Mack, Sharon Mack and Marilyn White; two uncles, Amos Mack of Holly Hill and Hosea Mack of Augusta, GA; Godmother, Quinnie "Blondie" Edwards; three god sisters; Brigitte Green, Yolanda Edwards and LaToya Edwards; four nephews; Micah and Messiah Durant, Dashawn Santiago and Russell Montgomery; three nieces, Daija Santiago, Jamia and Kaylin Seabrooks; three special sisters, Annette Mack, Denise Jamison Brown and Joshana Robinson; four godchildren; Naseem Williams, Jayden Hamilton, Kristopher Khion Simmons and Bella Simone Brown; and a host of other relatives and friends.
