Morris Sweat Jr., beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and cousin, was called home to be with the Lord on February 23, 2019. Morris was born to Rhodell Sweat and the late Morris Sweat Sr.on September 9, 1968 in Vance, South Carolina.
Sweat grew up in Orangeburg and graduated from Holly Hill Roberts High School in 1988. He was a member of Rock Hill AME Church, Vance, SC. On February 4, 1995, Sweat married the Love of his life, Tonya Jefferson. To this union, they were blessed with the apple of their eyes, their daughter, Mortasia Tionnia (Tasia) Sweat.
Sweat enjoyed spending time with children and teaching them the game of sport. He coached with the children's football team of Orangeburg County for many years. Sweat loved football. He was known to many as a football LEGEN at Holly Hill Roberts High School. Sweat was employed by TBC Corporation until his passing.
Sweat was preceded in death by: his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth Issac of Eutawville, his paternal grandparents, Davis and Mary Sweat of Vance, aunts, Bertha Walker, Mary L. Council, Jannie McAllister, Vernell Perry, Daisy James and Maybell Glover and uncles, Edward Sweat, John Issac and Arther Issac.
Sweat was loved by his wife, Tonya; his daughter, Tasia; his mother, Rhodell Sweat; his brothers, Carl (Barbera) Sweat and Anthony Sweat; his sister, Victoria Sweat, his father in love, Rev. Alex (Eadie) Jefferson, brothers in love, Alex (Marthel) Jefferson and Johnny (Caroline) Jefferson; sisters in love, Priscilla (Michael) Broughton and Pamela (Willie) Evans. He adored his nephews, Antonio Wellons, Ricardo Sweat, Michael Broughton, Phillip Broughton and his nieces, Keona Bailey, Dectavia Bailey, Tracey and Twila Evans. Two very special little people in his life that he loved as his own are Kimora and Corey CJ McQueen and a host of cousins and loving friends.
