Mr. Nathaniel (“Tubby”) Goodwin Jr. was born on June 25, 1950 in Orangeburg, SC. After a brief illness, God called him home on October 17, 2018. Nathaniel was the son of the late Nathaniel Goodwin and the late Annie Lee Elmore Goodwin.
On March 16, 1996 Nathaniel married Linda B. Goodwin, who stood by his side upon his passing.
In the early 2000s, he joined Rock Hill A.M.E. Church where he served as a member of the I Pringle Choir and a former Trustee member.
“Tubby” as he was affectionately called, was a jack of all trades when it came to roadwork, yardwork, farming, building, planting, and most of all taking care of his family. He worked on many other jobs in his time as well, such as Sander Brothers, O L Thompson, Collins Construction, and his most recent Holly Hill Auto Sales. Tubby was a people’s person and to have known him was to love him. He was willing to help any and everybody that called on him for whatever.
Nathaniel has reunited with his parents, Nathaniel and Annie Lee; his daughter, Yvette; his grandson, Allen; his sister, Ruby Mae; and two step-children, Sandra and Joe.
Nathaniel leaves to cherish loving memories: his wife, Linda B. Goodwin who will truly miss him; three children, Nathan Goodwin of Columbia, SC, Tyrone Goodwin (Camellia) of Fair Bluff, NC, and Freda Harrison (Sidney) of Savannah, GA; two stepchildren, Curtis Brown of Eutawville, SC and Angela Brown of Vance, SC; fifteen grandchildren; Shaquana, Laquisha, Dometrio, Ki ‘Asia, Navion, Davondre, Odasha, Brianna, Shakyra, Santana, Shannon, Shandreka, Sequioa, Jasmine, and Curtis; twelve great-grandchildren; four sisters, Daisy Shelton (Eugene) of Queens, New York, Laura Lee Farris of Nichols, SC, Lottie Mae Robinson, and Louise Watson (John) both of Holly Hill, SC; two brothers; Leroy Elmore (Jackie) of Durham, NC and Wade Allen Goodwin (Erica) of Mt.
