Nehemiah Nelson was born to the late Lawton and Sadie Nelson on January 10, 1952 in Cross, South Carolina.
He grew up in Cross and attended Central High School where he was a drummer in the school marching band. He graduated in 1969 and continued his education at Denmark and Trident Technical Schools majoring in Electrical Engineering.
Nehemiah was baptized at Jerusalem United Methodist Church at an early age. He participated in the youth group as a lead singer (The Five Bright Stars) their signature song was, "I'm A Pilgrim".

He had a big and giving heart. He loved telling jokes under the big oak tree in his yard named (Mr. Myer and Tim Resort Park). He was just our handyman.
