Sam Washington was born on August 6, 1933. He fell asleep in death on October 24, 2018. He was the son of the late Cirus and Della Washington.
Sam was educated in Orangeburg County Schools. Sam was married to his loving wife Eula for 62 years. They were united in marriage on December 10, 1955. He worked hard for his family at UTICA Tools of Orangeburg, Cooper Tools of Sumter, and the Towns of Santee and Eutawville, SC.
Sam Washington was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on March 25, 1979. He served as a devoted elder in the Christian congregation of Santee, South Carolina.
Sam was a diligent servant of his God, Jehovah. He loved sharing in the Christian Ministry preaching and teaching others about the kingdom of God.
Sam had great love and appreciation for all his family, friends, and neighbors. Anyone who knew Sam Washington knows without a doubt that he loved his cows.
Sam was preceded in death by four of his siblings: Mary Eliza James, Janie Washington, Emma Washington, and Mary B. Middleton.
Sam leaves to cherish his memories: his dear loving wife, Eula Mae Washington; seven children of their marriage union, Linda (Charles) Gibbs of Eutawville, SC, Vivian (Vernon) Williams of Holly Hill, SC, Carl (Cherry) Washington, Sam Glenn (Renee) Washington of Eutawville, SC, Joel (Selina) Washington of Eufaula, Alabama, Adriane (Stephen) Vose of Sumter, SC, and Eric (Jacie) Washington of Santee, SC. Sam also has one surviving sister, Rosa Lee Ravenell of Boston, Massachusetts as well as beloved, brother and sisters-in-law namely, Mary Davis Smith, Annie Green, Sam and Polly Green, and Marion and Ann Richards.
Sam also leaves to cherish his memories: sixteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, adopted families, and many very close friends.
