Mrs. Florence "Moon" Harmon Abraham, the first child of the late James and EffieHarmon was born into the Community of Holly Hill, Orangeburg County. She attended grade school within the Holly Hill Community.
God has been gracious to Florence throughout her life. As an infant, she was a "sickly" baby. It was said, Florence was raised to the Moon and prayed over " an African tradition of giving your child back to God". From that day, Florence became a strong and vibrant child better known as"Moon".
Florence joined Providence Baptist Church at an early age and served religiously. She met the Late Samuel Abraham who she married. Florence and her husband both served Providence Baptist Church faithfully. Florence gave herself to her Father God by serving mostly within the senior choir.
Florence loved farm life. She would brag about how many pounds of cotton and/or beans she would pick per day. Florence loved to cook. Pies and layer cakes were her specialty to serve at church unions. Summertime was her favorite time of the year to "can" fresh vegetables into mason jars for the winter.
Perceiving her in transition were her brothers Jacob, James, Samuel, and Abraham and her Sisters Felisha, Marie, Ann, Emma, and Verdell. She leaves to cherish her memories with one sister (Ruth Harmon Collier, Beaufort, SC) and one brother (Nathaniel Harmon, Orangeburg, SC) as well as a host of nieces and nephews from across the United States.
