Nolan Gibbs was born on Saturday, May 30, 1942, in Eutawville, SC as the eldest child of the late Abraham Gibbs and Ethel Lee Gibbs.  He departed this life on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at the Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg and Calhoun Counties. Nolan was the loving husband of the late Sinclair Gibbs.

He moved to Boston, MA in 1964 and found work shortly after with the Paper P. Shaffer Company in Chelsea, MA.  He would later retire from Rite Food Company in Boston, MA where he worked as a food processing clerk for many years.

Nolan spent many days taking long walks, fishing, and watching westerns. He really enjoyed spending time with his family and socializing with his neighbors in Cross, SC.

Nolan is survived by his daughter Shirley (Christine) Young of Columbia, SC, and his two grandchildren Justin and Angel Young. He also leaves two sisters; Mary Gavin of Cross, SC, Ernestine (Eric) Johnson of Fernandina Beach, FL; two brothers, Isaac Gibbs of Holly Hill, SC, Willie (Frances) Gibbs of Boston, MA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his sister, Rachel Gibbs, his brother, Robert Lee Gibbs, and his son-in-law William B.
